AUTOESCAPE / DISCLAIMER

A conversion tool is not a safety guarantee.

AutoEscape helps change the representation of text. It does not certify the output, verify a destination or replace context-aware handling in your application.

General scope

The tools, guides and examples on this website provide general technical assistance. They are not legal, security or professional advice, and they do not create a professional advisory relationship.

AutoEscape is operated by Noah in the United Kingdom. Questions and corrections can be sent to support@autoescape.online.

Output needs the right context

Escaping is format-specific. Text that is correctly escaped for one place can be unsuitable elsewhere. Check the destination, its parser and the surrounding syntax before using the result.

  • HTML: escaping reserved characters does not sanitize arbitrary HTML, validate URLs or make JavaScript and CSS contexts safe.
  • JSON String: the tool serializes or decodes one string; it does not validate a complete JSON object.
  • URL: encoding a component and encoding a full URI are different operations. Neither verifies that a destination is safe or exists.
  • Regex: output targets literal text in a JavaScript regex pattern, not replacement-string syntax or every regex engine.
  • Markdown: punctuation escaping applies to ordinary Markdown text and may behave differently across renderers and special contexts.

Verify important results

For production code, data pipelines or other consequential uses, test the output in the actual system. Keep the original source and use an appropriate serializer, validator or sanitizer where the application requires one.

A browser conversion can succeed while your application still has an error. Input size, nesting, character handling, platform rules and multiple escaping layers can all affect the final result.

Sensitive information and local processing

The workbench does not upload text to a conversion API or deliberately store editor text in cookies or local storage. This does not make an unfamiliar device or website environment a secure place for secrets.

Do not paste credentials or sensitive records. Site analytics, hosting, contact services, browser extensions and clipboard managers have separate behavior. Read the Privacy Policy and do not confuse a support message with local tool input.
